Quinn Hébert

LSU alumnus Quinn Hébert, chairman of Cal Dive International, Inc., will be the guest speaker for the Energy Leadership Speaker Series (ELSS), hosted by the Center for Energy Studies, Tuesday, March 24, at 3 p.m. in the Woods Auditorium of the Energy, Coast & Environment Building. The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is requested. A brief reception will follow the discussion.

Cal Dive is a marine contractor providing manned diving, derrick, pipelay and pipe burial services to the offshore oil and natural gas industry. Based on fleet size, Cal Dive is the market leader in the diving support business, which involves services such as construction, inspection, maintenance, repair and decommissioning of offshore production and pipeline infrastructure, on the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). The company also provides these services directly or through partnering relationships in select international offshore markets, such as the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt and Saudi Arabia), Singapore, Australia, Dubai, Trinidad, Indonesia, Central and South America. Based in Houston, Cal Dive currently owns and operates a diversified fleet of 34 vessels, including 24 surface and saturation diving support vessels, as well as 10 construction barges. Customers include major and independent oil and natural gas producers, pipeline transmission companies, and offshore engineering and construction firms.

Before joining Cal Dive, Mr. Hébert served as the president, vice president commercial, and general counsel of Acergy U.S., Inc., (formerly Stolt Offshore) for the North Americas Region from 1998 to 2005. Prior to his employment with Acergy, Mr. Hébert served as vice president, general counsel and secretary of American Oilfield Divers, Inc. (also known as Ceanic Corporation). Mr. Hébert's professional career began as an associate at Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere & Denegre, LLP in New Orleans. He holds a bachelor of arts in history from Louisiana State University and Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School.
